Sephora, 19, lives in Uganda’s Nakivale Refugee Settlement after fleeing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Through the ‘Unleashed’ youth entrepreneur group supported by Opportunity, she received financial training and a loan to develop her products. Spotting a gap in the market, Sephora developed the first reusable sanitary pads to be available in Nakivale, making her a local leader for women’s health and empowering her to pursue her ambitions of growing her business.
I have personally learned many new skills, including design, manufacture, mixing of cosmetic and medical ingredients and marketing. I have many hopes for the future.
