After fleeing violence in Burundi that claimed her husband’s life, Odeta reached safety in Uganda’s Nakivale refugee settlement with her two young daughters. Through Opportunity International’s financial training and savings group-support, she has learned to manage money, save regularly, and is steadily building towards reopening the small shop she once ran in Burundi.
The financial diaries have helped me to learn how to manage my money; how much I spend each day and how I can save. This has really helped me. It is the first time I have done this in Nakivale.
