Ash, a teacher in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, noticed many of her students were hungry and struggling to concentrate. Wanting to help her pupils, she used a small loan from her savings group to start a business producing high-quality, affordable flour, grains, and other nutritious products. Her business grew quickly, allowing her to employ staff, expand her product range, all to help her students. Ash now plans further investment with support from Opportunity International.
I care deeply about children and wanted to make something that would improve their health. My products are now sought out, and I’ve been able to create a new line of products for mothers too. I can’t make them quick enough!
