Bitalie
Bitalie is a skilled tailor who, after fleeing violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo has begun rebuilding her life in Uganda. Though she was separated from her husband and children during the conflict, she has found safety and renewed strength through her work. With a sewing machine donated by her church, she restarted the tailoring business she once ran for more than 20 years. Each week, she earns between 20,000 and 50,000 Ugandan Shillings (approximately £4 - £10) which is enough to pay her rent and buy extra food, such as tomatoes and vegetables, to supplement her family’s rations. She also cares for two orphaned children from her community, giving them stability and a sense of home. She hopes to access a loan to expand her business and create a secure future.
I would like to get a loan to grow my business, so that I can try to be strong and to get some security.
