Mary, who lives in Malawi with her husband and four children, runs a bakery and grows crops for sale. Through her savings group supported by Opportunity International, she received training in business, finance, and agriculture, enabling her to expand her income, diversify her farm, and build resilience against climate shocks. Despite losses from a severe cyclone, Mary has rebuilt her farm and invested in her business; she is now a respected and empowered community member who is providing for her family and planning for a secure future.
My hope is for all Malawian women to be able to rely on themselves, grow their businesses and manage their homes successfully.
